RICHARD HELL & The Voidoids / The Neon Boys - Don't Die [1973/75]

A split record by The Neon Boys and Richard Hell & the Voidoids. The Neon Boys were guitarist and lead vocalist Tom Verlaine, drummer Billy Ficca and bassist Richard Hell, who formed in 1972 and would a year later become known as seminal New York punk band Television. Richard Hell left the band in 1975 and subsequently formed the Voidoids the following year. The split was first released on Shake Records in 1980, and features only two of a rumoured six songs recorded by The Neon Boys from 1973. Reissues of the split included "High Heeled Wheels". The other recorded songs, purportedly entitled "Tramp,""Hot Dog," and "Poor Circulation" have still yet to see the light of day.

12"Ep with the earliest recordings by Richard Hell dated from '73/'75. Proto-Punk stuff with noticeable strong influence by Velvet Underground. Hell later re-recorded "Time" for "Destiny Street" Lp. This five trax Ep were issued on clear vinyl in 1991. for Overground Records. Vinyl Rip by Surfadelic. Dig!!!
